Composing of six areas (Sansui Hall, Wanhua Chamber, Dianchun Hall, Huijing Hall, Yuhua Hall, and the Inner Garden), the gardens were the private property of the Pan family duringn the Ming dynasty, and contain a mix of traditional bridges, archways, pools, buildings and pavillions.
